Jason P. Zarzaur brings nearly three decades of combined experience in accounting, law, and real estate to Cedar Roots Mortgage — a background that gives clients a uniquely qualified advocate at every stage of the lending process.

A Certified Public Accountant since 1998, Jason earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Alabama and his Master of Accountancy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. After more than 20 years of practice as a CPA across industries including real estate, land management, law firms, healthcare, manufacturing, and nonprofit organizations, Jason added a Juris Doctor to his credentials in 2017, when he was admitted to the Alabama State Bar.

Jason is the Owner and President of Zarzaur & Schwartz, P.C., a Birmingham-based law firm, where he has led firm strategy, finance, and operations. Earlier in his career, Jason worked as a real estate professional representing buyers and sellers in residential and commercial transactions and managing property developments, giving him firsthand insight into the real estate process from the ground up.

At Cedar Roots Mortgage, Jason leverages his rare combination of financial, legal, and real estate expertise to serve borrowers with transparency, precision, and genuine care.

He is a member of the Alabama State Bar, the American Bar Association, the Birmingham Bar Association, the American Institute of CPAs, and the Alabama Society of CPAs.

Outside of work, Jason is a passionate supporter of University of Alabama Athletics and enjoys spending time with his wife and two boys.
